Parents of current 5th grade students:

Immunizations of meningitis and Tdap are needed for the start of 6th grade.  Please call the doctor now to schedule an appointment prior to the start of school so that your student will have the shots that Indiana requires for middle school.  When you have an appointment date and time, please let the elementary school nurse know so that it can be recorded. Requirements are grade level-based, and not dependent on age of students entering 6th grade.  Call now for the best availability of appointments.

Parents of current high school juniors:

Two doses of meningitis are needed for the start of 12th grade.  Please call your student’s doctor now to schedule an appointment prior to the start of school so that your student will have complete shots as designated by the state of Indiana.  Please call the nurse at 803-8304 to advise her about the date and time of appointment.  Students are expected to have the shots at the beginning of the school year.  Call now for best availability of appointments.

Please follow the links to the immunization charts:

It is amazing what can be found when spending some time on Google.  Most recently we discovered that the official holiday for New Year’s Day in 2017 will be on January 2!  The approved calendar for the 16-17 school year indicated that students in Franklin Township would be returning to school on that day after the winter break.  This new information has caused a shift of days in the calendar.

The link to the calendar shown below will take you to the new version of the calendar with the corrections.  The modification is that students WILL attend school on Friday, December 16.  The teacher work day has been moved to Monday, December 19, 2016.  With this change, students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

Star Express Franklin Township has been affected by a Class I Food Safety Recall. The Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation issued a voluntary recall of poultry products due to possible foreign matter contamination. All affected products have been removed from the menu and the proper steps are being taken to report and destroy them. The safety of our students is our first concern, and we appreciate your patience with future menu adjustments.

Attention TC volunteers! We sent out invitations to all of our TC family members that have helped out in classrooms or TC events this school year. Our annual Volunteer Thank You Breakfast is tomorrow, April 26th from 8:00-8:40am. We hope to see you there and the staff can't wait to celebrate you. TC would not be as successful without our cherished volunteers. *This event is just for you but we understand that many will need to bring their students or siblings. Childcare will be provided by our very own TC staff in hopes that you may relax, mingle and enjoy your breakfast. Any questions please contact Mrs. Gerbofsky at 860-4602

Mrs. Hacker taught knitting skills to Reach fourth and fifth graders this morning, before school. It was a great morning of inter generational learning as other staff members learned alongside the students.

Our Thompson Crossing Fun Run is just around the corner! This year we will be using Boosterthon to promote our Fun Run. We hope that by using Boosterthon we will increase our pledge collection to $9000! Money collected will go back to the school to help with purchasing reading materials and technology. Please be on the look out for more information coming home soon. Be thinking about getting family both near and far involved in pledging (we will offer online pledging this year). The pep rally to kick off our Fun Run work will be May 2nd and our Fun Run will be May 13th. Thank you in advance for your support! Check out Boosterthon: https://boosterthon.com/

Franklin Central has just gathered another National honor! The Washington Post has, for the fifth year in a row, recognized Franklin Central on their Most Challenging High Schools in the United States list! This places Franklin Central in the top 9% of all public and private schools in the United States in preparing students for the rigors of college. Congratulations to our students, teachers, parents and community for helping make our vision of having the most sought after graduates by colleges, universities and the world of work a reality for our students. They are prepared for life's possibilities! http://apps.washingtonpost.com/…/franklin-central-indianap…/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/…/647471de-00d5-11e6-b823-70…
