All 1st grade students will have vision screening done on Wed. Oct.1, through the generosity of Drs. Huffman, Rich and Potter, optometrists in Franklin Township. FT buses will transport students to and from the screening, held at Kitley Elementary
School. 1st graders will be screened in accordance with IN law, using the Modified Clinical Technique, a group of tests designed to determine the presence of any vision difficulties. The four parts include visual acuity, eye muscle balance, retinoscopy, and ocular health.  Good vision is essential to learning.  Please contact the nurse at your child’s school for questions.
On Tuesday, October 7th, the Marion County Health Dept. will be here to perform a vision screening. All 3rd and 5th graders, students who are new residents of Marion County, and children from other grades suspected of having vision problems will be screened.
