It is amazing what can be found when spending some time on Google.  Most recently we discovered that the official holiday for New Year’s Day in 2017 will be on January 2!  The approved calendar for the 16-17 school year indicated that students in Franklin Township would be returning to school on that day after the winter break.  This new information has caused a shift of days in the calendar.

The link to the calendar shown below will take you to the new version of the calendar with the corrections.  The modification is that students WILL attend school on Friday, December 16.  The teacher work day has been moved to Monday, December 19, 2016.  With this change, students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

Just a friendly reminder when dropping off or picking up your student to keep the safety of all students and staff in mind.  Please remember the following:

- Obey school speed limit
- Only drop students off in the coned area on the sidewalk
- Pull completely forward to the car in front of your car or the stop/go sign held by our staff member
- Please follow the directions of all staff members directing traffic
- Please be conscience of all pedestrians crossing at crosswalks.
- When entering the building please use the marked crosswalks.

Thanks for your help in making FTMS West a safe place for our students!

ATTENDANCE LINE:             803-8290

Attendance Policy

When a student is going to be absent from school for any reason, the parent must call the attendance line (803-8290) and report it by 9:00 a.m. Upon returning to school following an absence or absences, the student shall bring a written statement.  The note must contain dates of absences and reason as well as parent/guardian signature.  These statements determine if the absence is excusable.  Failure to report (verbal or written) a student absent within 24 hours will result in the absence being unexcused.  Students will be considered unexcused for all absences other than those stipulated by administrative guidelines, state, or federal statutes.

During the Franklin Central High School "Kindness Campaign" sponsored by Student Council & SADD Club last week, over 200 prom dresses, bowties, shoes, and accessories were donated for the Riley Hospital Prom. Mrs. Kelley Carreon, Riley Women's Club representative, was overjoyed by the generous donation from FC. She said the dresses will go to a drycleaners and then will be out for Riley families to choose from for their big event. "The annual Riley Cancer Center Prom in May is magical night where cancer takes a back seat to fun. More than 350 patients and family members gather to dance the night away together and enjoy food, fun and friendship.Promgoers also receive pampering, hairstyling and makeup at the “Riley Day Spa,” and are able to choose their own complimentary gowns, tuxedos, shoes and accessories at the annual Promingdale’s boutique in April. " Student Council and SADD Club would like to thank the FCHS faculty, staff, and students for rallying around this great cause! Picture attached: Student Council representatives Sarah Kurtz & Hannah Cougill help load all the Riley Prom donations.
