It is amazing what can be found when spending some time on Google.  Most recently we discovered that the official holiday for New Year’s Day in 2017 will be on January 2!  The approved calendar for the 16-17 school year indicated that students in Franklin Township would be returning to school on that day after the winter break.  This new information has caused a shift of days in the calendar.

The link to the calendar shown below will take you to the new version of the calendar with the corrections.  The modification is that students WILL attend school on Friday, December 16.  The teacher work day has been moved to Monday, December 19, 2016.  With this change, students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

Parents of current 5th grade students: Immunizations of meningitis and Tdap are needed for the start of 6th grade. Please call the doctor now to schedule an appointment prior to the start of school so that your student will have the shots that Indiana requires for middle school. When you have an appointment date and time, please let the elementary school nurse know so that it can be recorded. Requirements are grade level-based, and not dependent on age of students entering 6th grade. Call now for the best availability of appointments.

During the Franklin Central High School "Kindness Campaign" sponsored by Student Council & SADD Club last week, over 200 prom dresses, bowties, shoes, and accessories were donated for the Riley Hospital Prom. Mrs. Kelley Carreon, Riley Women's Club representative, was overjoyed by the generous donation from FC. She said the dresses will go to a drycleaners and then will be out for Riley families to choose from for their big event. "The annual Riley Cancer Center Prom in May is magical night where cancer takes a back seat to fun. More than 350 patients and family members gather to dance the night away together and enjoy food, fun and friendship.Promgoers also receive pampering, hairstyling and makeup at the “Riley Day Spa,” and are able to choose their own complimentary gowns, tuxedos, shoes and accessories at the annual Promingdale’s boutique in April. " Student Council and SADD Club would like to thank the FCHS faculty, staff, and students for rallying around this great cause!
