2024-25 Elementary School Boundaries

Dear FTCSC Families,

We hope this message finds you well. We are thrilled to share with you the exciting news that New Bethel Elementary School is set to open its doors for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year! This development brings much-needed relief to our elementary schools, addressing the demand for additional space.

In conjunction with the establishment of New Bethel, adjustments have been made to FTCSC elementary school boundaries to ensure a more balanced distribution of building space across our schools. We want to inform you about a crucial update regarding elementary school boundaries within our district. After thorough consideration and in response to the evolving needs of our community, we will be implementing new elementary school boundaries effective for the 2024-2025 school year.

Presently, three out of our six elementary schools operate at capacities exceeding 90%. Through the opening of New Bethel and the realignment of boundaries, our objectives were to:

  • Rebalance school boundaries to maintain a capacity of around 80% or less, facilitating space for future growth.
  • Enhance the efficiency of bus routes.
  • Minimize disruption by preserving intermediate boundaries and feeder school structures.

Out of our 2,344 K-2 students, only approximately 17% will be affected by the elementary school boundary adjustments.

These adjustments are designed to optimize resources, alleviate overcrowding, and ensure a fair distribution of students among our elementary schools. With the inclusion of New Bethel and the revised boundaries, each elementary school in our district will operate at or below 80% capacity, fostering long-term growth without the need for constant adjustments.

It is important to note that the changes in elementary school boundaries do not impact our intermediate schools, Edgewood and Kitley, as their boundaries will remain unchanged. Students from Arlington, Bunker Hill, and Thompson Crossing will continue attending Edgewood for intermediate school, while students from Acton, Adams, New Bethel, and South Creek will attend Kitley.

If your student is part of the 17% of K-2 students affected by the elementary school boundary changes, rest assured that our building administrators will be in touch with you shortly to provide further details.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we strive to create an optimal learning environment for all our students.

Sincerely,

FTCSC
