The IN State Dept. of Health has released the new immunization requirements for school in a 2 year plan to help you plan for what is needed for school.

What this means for students:

6th graders need shots for attending school in the fall.  Tdap and MCV4 are required.  Hep A should be started for the requirement the following year.

Current juniors need the second MCV4 for senior year, and MenB is recommended along with Hep A.  Please call your provider now, as these changes impact doctor’s offices and appointment availability.  Seniors are expected to have the shots the first day of school, as there is ample time to obtain the immunizations.

It is hard to believe that we have almost reached the end of the 2015 - 2016 school year.  We are now planning for the next school year.  We know that there are going to be a great number of changes this summer before we start back to school on July 27.  If you know that you are going to have a change of address, phone number, or need to modify the information that you have on file, you can now do it online through Infinite Campus.  In order to access this feature you MUST have signed up for access to the parent portal.  If you follow this link:  http://www.ftcsc.k12.in.us/it/32 you will be directed to the IC page.  Once you have access to the portal, please make sure you read the District Announcement Section.

It is amazing what can be found when spending some time on Google.  Most recently we discovered that the official holiday for New Year’s Day in 2017 will be on January 2!  The approved calendar for the 16-17 school year indicated that students in Franklin Township would be returning to school on that day after the winter break.  This new information has caused a shift of days in the calendar.

The link to the calendar shown below will take you to the new version of the calendar with the corrections.  The modification is that students WILL attend school on Friday, December 16.  The teacher work day has been moved to Monday, December 19, 2016.  With this change, students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
