Dear Franklin Township Students and Parents,

This is an exciting time in your child’s educational journey and we are excited to share it with them. Among the many great things happening in our classrooms, we are making major advances in the use of technology to help engage our students and provide opportunities otherwise not possible. The district has created an intentional and sustainable plan to provide both the training for our teachers and building staff as well as the hardware and software to support these initiatives and propel our students forward.

We will no longer be sending paper packets for you to complete. Please log onto your Infinite Campus Parent Portal and follow the steps below:

The Board of School Trustees of the Franklin Township Community School Corporation will hold a meeting on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board/Community Room of the Administration Building, 6141 S. Franklin Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana 46259 in order to receive public input on a proposed contract between the Board of School Trustees and the Superintendent.
The entire proposed contract will be posted on the Franklin Township Community School Corporation website effective Friday, June 2, 2017 and copies will be made available at the June 5, 2017 public hearing. After the hearing the Board of School Trustees will consider the input and then it will consider the proposed contract as an agenda item for consideration at the special board meeting on June 13, 2017.
Summary of Contract Provisions
1. Sets the Superintendent’s base salary at One Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000.00)
2. The Board agrees to pay all of the Superintendent’s health, dental and vision insurance consistent with other School Corporation administrators. In regards to health insurance, the School Corporation will pay the Superintendent’s insurance premiums under Plan 2 of the School Corporation’s health insurance plans, except for $250 for an employee-only plan or $500 for a family plan which amounts shall be paid by Superintendent. Superintendent’s dental and vision insurance coverage will also be provided consistent with other School Corporation administrators.
3. The Board shall provide the Superintendent with an annual car allowance in the amount of Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000).
4. The School Corporation shall provide the Superintendent with a stipend of One Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00) per contract year payable quarterly at the start of each quarter for reimbursement of the cost of a cell phone.
5. The Board shall reimburse the Superintendent for appropriate business and professional expenses.
6. The Board shall pay the Superintendent an additional amount of $20,000 for the 2017-2018 school year and for each subsequent year thereafter, which the Superintendent may elect but need not contribute to employee elective qualified retirement plans.
7. The Superintendent shall be entitled to all other benefits established by the Board for all management employees of the Board.
8. If the Superintendent relocates the Superintendent’s residency within the School Corporation’s boundaries within the first twelve (12) months of this Contract, the School Corporation will reimburse the Superintendent for moving expenses up to a maximum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00).
9. The Superintendent shall provide services for two hundred sixty (260) days during each school year.
10. The term of this contract shall be July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020. This Contract shall automatically be extended one school year on each June 30 effective the next day, i.e., on July 1, unless a party gives the other written notice on or before the preceding January 1 that the party does not agree to the extension of this Contract.
